I am an architect, researcher, and musician based in Helsinki, Finland. I graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of Oulu in 2015, and since then, I have worked as an architect in Helsinki-based architecture offices and as a doctoral researcher at Aalto University. My research centers on the phenomenological concept of atmosphere and sociologist Hartmut Rosa’s theory of resonance, with a special interest in the experience of built environments. As a practicing architect, I place value on the historical aspects of built environments and am particularly interested in traditional log craftsmanship.
Outside of architecture, I am a pianist focusing on improvised, experimental, and contemporary music. Over the years, I have been involved in various music projects and genres, from jazz and rock to world and classical music. Nowadays, I collaborate with musical collectives, including Helsinki Improvisers Orchestra, Uusi Jazzi Klubi, and Laponia Improvisations. Additionally, I am fascinated by interdisciplinary art collaborations and have participated in projects where improvised music intersects with disciplines like dance or poetry.
